Compliance checklist
Floodi's security and compliance posture is documented for government IT reviewers.
All public-facing pages tested against WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Keyboard navigation, color contrast, and screen reader compatibility maintained.
All data in transit encrypted via TLS 1.3. Enforced at the Cloudflare edge layer before reaching application servers.
Data at rest encrypted using AES-256 via Supabase (PostgreSQL + Storage). Encryption keys managed by Supabase platform.
Supabase Row-Level Security enforced on all tables. Public API exposes only public-safe fields. Reporter contact details and user IDs are never in the public feed.
Supabase (PostgreSQL + object storage) and Cloudflare (CDN + edge network) operate on SOC 2 Type II certified platforms. Attestation letters available upon request.
Data governance documentation specifies which data fields are subject to public records requests, retention schedules, and the process for responding to FOIA requests from Florida agencies.
Retention schedules for all data categories are documented and available in the data governance page and upon request as part of procurement review.
Floodi does not sell, license, or broker resident-submitted data to third parties. This restriction is incorporated into the standard data sharing agreement.
Residents may submit flood reports without creating an account or providing contact details. No PII is required to submit a community report.
Integration compatibility
Floodi is designed as a complement to existing government platforms — not a replacement.
Floodi surfaces street-level community reports as a supplemental layer for WebEOC operators. Public API endpoints allow data pull into WebEOC or custom dashboards.
Community report coordinates, NWS polygon overlays, and FEMA flood zone geometry are accessible via the public API for import into ArcGIS, ESRI, or any GIS platform.
Floodi does not replace FloridaDisaster.org — it adds the street-level layer that official alert channels don't capture. NWS watches and warnings are overlaid as context.
Floodi is not an IPAWS originating point. It supplements IPAWS-distributed alerts by providing the street-level ground truth that official broadcasts cannot.
Real-time USGS stream gauge readings are ingested and displayed on the Floodi map. Gauge stage levels (action / minor / moderate / major) are shown alongside community reports.
NWS flood alerts are polled every 15 minutes from api.weather.gov. NOAA NWPS storm surge and coastal flood context layers are available as overlays.

Chapter 119 (Florida Public Records Law) applicability of resident-submitted reports, data retention schedules, and redaction procedures are addressed in the data governance documentation and our standard data sharing agreement.
