    Terms of Service

    Floodi is not a 911 service and does not replace official emergency alerts. Community reports may be delayed or inaccurate; verify road conditions independently and follow official instructions.

    These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Floodi (the "Service", "Floodi", "we", "us"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms.

    1. Independent service

    Floodi is a private, independent service. Floodi is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any government agency,including FEMA, the National Weather Service, NOAA, or any state or local government in Florida.

    2. Crowdsourced, unverified data

    All flood reports on Floodi are submitted by members of the public and are not verified for accuracy. Reports may be inaccurate, delayed, incomplete, or fabricated. Never make evacuation, sheltering, driving, or other safety decisions based solely on information from Floodi. Always follow official government emergency orders and guidance from local authorities, the National Weather Service, and emergency management officials.

    3. No liability

    TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, Floodi, its owners, employees, contributors, and affiliates are not liable for any injury, death, property damage, economic loss, business interruption, emotional distress, or other harm arising from the use of, or reliance on, the Service or any content within it. The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind.

    4. Age requirement

    You must be at least 13 years old to use Floodi. By using the Service you represent that you are 13 or older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

    5. User-generated content (Section 230)

    Floodi is an "interactive computer service" within the meaning of 47 U.S.C. § 230. Flood reports, photos, comments, and other content submitted by users ("User Content") are the responsibility of the user who submitted them. Under Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, Floodi is not the publisher or speaker of User Content and is not liable for it. We may, but are not required to, moderate, edit, hide, or remove User Content at any time and for any reason.

    6. Acceptable use

    • Do not submit false, misleading, or malicious flood reports.
    • Do not upload photos that are not of actual flooding.
    • Do not harass, threaten, or abuse other users.
    • Do not attempt to scrape, abuse, or disrupt the Service.

    False or malicious reports may be removed and the submitting user may be banned from the Service.

    7. Termination

    We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including violation of these Terms.

    8. Embed partners

    Organizations embedding the Floodi map widget or consuming the public GeoJSON feed acknowledge that the data is crowdsourced and is not an official government alert system. Embed partners agree to display the "Powered by Floodi" attribution and to not represent the data as an official government source.

    9. Governing law & venue

    These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Miami-Dade County, Florida.

    10. DMCA & legal notices

    Send DMCA takedown notices and other legal correspondence to our designated agent at [email protected]. Notices must include all information required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3).

    11. Changes

    We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
