Floodi data sources and limitations.
Floodi combines community-submitted reports with public weather and flood-awareness references. We do not claim official partnership with NWS, NOAA, USGS, FEMA, or any government unless explicitly stated in writing.
Community reports
Residents can submit flooding, road impacts, public-safe comments, and optional photos when it is safe to do so. All submitted photos are screened by AI before public display and may be queued for manual review.
National Weather Service
Floodi polls active flood watches, warnings, and advisories from the NWS public API (api.weather.gov) every 15 minutes and draws them on the map exactly as the federal government publishes them — geometry, severity, and expiration are not modified. NWS is not affiliated with Floodi and does not endorse it.
NOAA
Floodi uses NOAA public data including AHPS river stage forecasts and National Hurricane Center advisory context. NOAA is not affiliated with Floodi and does not endorse it.
USGS
Floodi ingests USGS National Water Information System stream gauge readings to show current water levels at monitored stations across Florida. USGS is not affiliated with Floodi and does not endorse it.
FEMA
Floodi uses FEMA National Flood Hazard Layer (NFHL) flood zone geometry to show flood zones and risk classifications. FEMA is not affiliated with Floodi and does not endorse it.
Public flood awareness resources
Floodi may link to public safety, preparedness, and weather education resources published by government agencies for resident guidance.
Attribution and limitations
Community reports may be delayed, inaccurate, duplicated, or incomplete. Public agency resources remain the authoritative source for warnings, evacuations, road closures, disaster declarations, and emergency instructions.
